(السرّ في خطأ القضاء) يُعد كتاباً من أمهات الكتب القانونيّة لمؤلفه ف. جيلرمه المحامي أمام محكمة إستئناف باريس، تحسّس فيه المؤلّف عيوب القضاء تحسّس الطبيب الحاذق جسم المريض لتشخيص الدّاء ووصف الدواء في قالب يروق لأنظار القارئين، وفي مقدمتهم أولئك الذين قصدوا به من قضاة ونواب وخبراء وغيرهم ممن عُهدت إليهم إقامة صروح العدل على أمتن أساس، حيث إن الغاية الشريفة التي يرمي إليها وهي إصلاح القضاء لمصلحة المتقاضين قد سمت به فوق المصلحة الذاتيّة المبنيّة على التماس الزلفى إلى القضاة من طريق كيل المدائح لهم بحق أحياناً وبدون حق غالباً، بحيث يتحقق التوازن من غاية منزلة القضاء من تحقيق ميزان العدالة.
يتشكّل الكتاب من ثمانية أبواب، تناقش "الغلطات القضائيّة" ونتائجها، وضرورة البحث في العناصر المكوّنة للغلطات القضائية، والتعريب الفلسفي للخطأ والصواب، وكذلك تعريف الخطأ القضائي.
كما يناقش الكتاب الصفات الواجب توافرها في القاضي، وقاضي التحقيق ومهامه، والفساد في الصناعة، ومدى صلاحية مبدأ (الإعتراف بالجريمة) كدليل، وكذلك ضرورة الإشراف على وسائل الدفاع، ومبدأ حسن النية.
كما يناقش الكتاب قضيّة (الخبير) وما يتفرّع عنها من مسائل (الطبيب الخبير) والجنون العقلي، وخبراء الخطوط والحسابات، وناقش كذلك قضيّة (الجمهور) من حيث تعليقه مجرّداً، ومن جهة الأحوال النفسيّة، والشهرة العامّة، وهيكل المحلّفين، والمجالس الحربيّة، والصحافة، وكذلك مذهب القضاء والقدر في القضاء، كما يحتوي الكتاب على دراسة تحليليّة معاصرة تقوم بمدّ جسور الإستفادة من أفكاره وقضايا في الواقع المعاصر.
