ففي الرواية الأولي تجسدت مجموعة آراء ونظريات تناولت الدين والمجتمع والاشتراكية، صيغت بإطار قصصي لتصبح سهلة المنال من عامة القراء. وغاية المؤلف منها، كما من غيرها من رواياته، لم تكن في إبراز الفن القصصي بحد ذاته بقدر ما كانت في استعمال فن القصة كوسيلة يبلغ بها هدفه في إيصال آرائه ومبادئه إلى الأذهان بسهولة. وفي رواية الوحش يعالج فرح انطون المسألة الأخلاقية فيبرز الغرائز الشريرة التي تسود بين الأفراد وتجعل من المجتمع مسرحاً لتنازع البقاء الحيواني حيث يحاول القوي السيطرة على الضعيف بجميع الوسائل. وأما قصة أورشليم الجديدة أو فتح العرب بيت المقدس فهذه القصة تعتبر أهم ما كتبه فرح انطون نظراً للمسائل الفلسفية الاجتماعية والأخلاقية والسياسية التي عالجها فيها، ونظراً للتركيب القصصي المشوق التي بنيت عليه.
