يسعى هذا الكتاب إلى إلقاء الأضواء على الغزو الإسرائيلي للبنان الذي هدف إلى إخضاع لبنان لمشيئة الأطماع الأمريكية والمخططات الإسرائيلية تمهيداً لدفعه إلى الإرتماء في الخندق المعادي للأمة العربية، والإنفراد بسورية وبقوى الثورة الفلسطينية، وإبقاء العرب في زمن الوهن والضعف والتمزق؛ كل ذلك بتوجيه الإمبريالية الأمريكية والصهيونية وتنسيقهما وتخطيطهما.
بعد مرور سنوات على العدوان، ثبت أن الغزو الإسرائيلي للبنان كان عبئاً ثقيلاً على إسرائيل، ومأزقاً معقداً يصعب الخروج منه، لقد زال بسرعة بريق الإنتصار وصدأت الأوهام الإسرائيلية والأحكام الأمريكية.
واكتشفت واشنطن أن ثمن الغزو كان باهظاً، وأن رمال لبنان المتحركة كانت تبتلع كل يوم نزيفاً إسرائيلياً جديداً من خلال المقاومة اللبنانية وتكثيف أعمالها العسكرية خلف الخطوط التي وضعت القوات الإسرائيلية في لبنان في مواجهة حرب إستنزاف يومية أرهقت الآلة العسكرية الإسرائيلية ووضعتها في حالة تأهب مستمر، وأرغمتها على الخروج مدحورة تجر أذيال الهزيمة في 25 أيار 2000.
