منذ زمن بعيد وعى الإنسان أهمية الصحة الجسدية ونظافة مسكنه وملبسه وأدواته المنزلية، ووجود الصابون دليل أكيد على ذلك فالصابون الذي يتم اختراعه واستخدامه أصلاً على شكل مرهم بسبب مزاياه العلاجية انتشر استعماله فيما بعد لأسباب صحية. ويرتبط استخدام الصابون والمنظفات بمفهوم النظافة وإزالة التلوث، وبالتالي بالابتعاد عن الأمراض ومسبباتها، حيث تستخدم هذه المواد في المنازل لعديد من الأغراض الصحية كما تستخدم وبكثرة داخل المستشفيات للمحافظة على مستوى النظافة والتعقيم المطلوبة في مثل هذه الأماكن.
خلال السنوات الماضية وبازدياد الوعي العالمي لأهمية هذه المواد ازدادت الكميات المنتجة على مستوى العالم من مواد التنظيف وتنوعت طرق تصنيعها مما سبب في وجود بعض من مواد الأساسية الداخلة في تصنيع المنظفات لها أضرار كبيرة بالنظم البيئية المحيطة، فظهرت عدة دراسات نوهت بخطورة هذه المواد على البيئة ومدى إمكانية استعمالها والكميات المسموح بها والتي لا تسبب أي أضرار لأفراد والمحيط.
في هذا الإطار تأتي هذه الدراسة متحدثى عن ماهية الصابون، تاريخ صناعته والتطور التاريخي لهذه الصناعة أنواع الصابون، بعد ذلك ردت الدراسة على عدد من الأسئلة منها هل لاستخدام الصابون فوائد صحية؟ ما هي المعية؟ ما هو التصبين؟ وما هي المراحل التي يمر بها؟ ما هي مهمة المفرش؟ هل يقتل الصابون الجراثيم؟ كيف يمكن للمنظفات أن تلوث البيئة؟ لماذا تكون رغوة الصابون بيضاء؟. من ثم قدم دراسة فنية اقتصادية وقفت عند جودى مشروع صناعة الصابون السائل.
