ولاحظت في موسيقى شعره هذا النغم المتمثل في تصويره لعصره الأموي المفعم بالأحداث في ضوء هذه الشعرية الخالدة، وكنت أقرأ هذا الشعر حتى أدرك سر معانيه وسحر ألفاظه وأوزانه، ولمست أسرار لغته، وتذوقت ما أبدعته مخيلته الشعرية في وصفه ومدحه وفخره وغزله.
