هذا المخطوطُ لا يحملُ اسماً، لأنَّ اليد التي طغت عليه، وإهمالَ حفظه على مدى زمن بعيدٍ - كما يبدو - يتنازعان، ما أضاعَ اسم الكتابِ، واسمَ مُصنِّفِه، ولكنَّ أهميَّةَ المخطوطِ وطرافتَهُ تأتيانِ من كونِهِ يَحتوي على أبوابٍ وفصولٍ، يَندرُ أَنْ تَجتمِعَ في مخطوطٍ غيره، فهو يبدأُ بباب خاصٍ بألقابِ الشُّعراء، ثم المعرقينَ من الشعراءِ، فالأخوةِ من الشعراءِ، ثمَّ الشعراءِ من القُوّادِ والأُمراءِ والوزراء، فشُعراء الكُتّاب، وشعراءِ عبيدِ العرب، فالإماءِ من شواعرِ النّساء، وبابٍ أَخيرٍ خاصٍ بالشُّعراءِ المجانين.
ويَحوي هذا المخطوطُ، ضمنَ أبْوابِهِ التي أشرنا إليها، عدداً كبيراً جدّاً من الأبيات الشعريّة، التي لم أجدْ لها ذكراً في دواوين شعراء كثيرين، أُخرِجتْ محُقّقةً تحقيقاً علميّاً.
من خلال دراسة المؤلف لنصٍّ المخطوطِ من الداخلِ، وتتبعه في معارضة ما وردَ فيه مع المظانِّ، توصل إلى أنَّ اسم الكتاب هو: (المذاكرةُ في ألقابِ الشعراء)، وأنَّ مُصنَّفُهُ هو: أسعد بن إبراهيم بن الحسن الشَّيبانيُّ الإربليُّ الكاتب، الشهيرُ بالمجدِ النَّشابيِّ".
