يثير التفكير الفلسفي في الترجمة، إشكاليات عدّة يجلبها لسطح النقاش، غير مكتف بمساءلة أساسياتها بل تفرعاتها وهوامشها، فاحصا في الآن نفسه ذات المترجم ومهامه، أدواته في العمل الترجمي. كما يناقش النصوص في أصلها ومآلها، لا من منظور الممارسة الترجمية فقط إنما بالتأمل في هذه الممارسة وفق رؤية شاملة. الترجمة، في تصوري، ومن زاوية فلسفيّة ليست مُجرّد أداة للتثَاقُف والتواصُل، بيد أن رسالتها الأهّم تقبع في كونها بوابة للانفتاح على الغير والتضامن مع الأجنبي بفضل ما تستند إليه من إتيقا التسامح وبحكم استضافة الآخر لغويا قبل أن تتحول إلى واقع. الترجمة، فلسفيا، رؤية للفعل الترجمي في ميتافيزيقاه وجمالياته وأخلاقياته وهي أيضا صورة لواقع وآفاق هذا الفعل في يومياتنا وفي تنامي حاجتنا للترجمة، ليس من منطلق الاختلاف اللغوي الذي نعترف به واقعا ماثلا بيننا أو على تخومنا ؛ إنما من منطلق حاجتنا الثقافية لفعل لا نتصور أن حياتنا ستستمر من دونه. الترجمة ــ صورة ومحتوى ــ ذات أبعاد شتى أبزرها البعد الإتيقي. ففي عالم يعّجُ بالتعدّد والتنوّع اللغوي حتى داخل حتى المجتمع الواحد؛ لا تصير فيه الترجمة مجرّد جسر بين ضفاف هذه الجُزر اللغوية والبشرية، إنما تصبح لُغة للعالَم.
