لم تعد قضية البيئة وما تفرع عنها من قضايا مسألة عادية يمكن غض الطرف عنها، بل باتت قضية عالمية أكثر منها وطنية، بالنظر إلى التداعيات التي تركتها وستتركها على المستوى البشري وكوكب الأرض.
ورغم الدراسات التي كُتبت حولها فإن ثمة حاجة ملحة للمتابعة والرصد لكل جديد متعلق بها، ومن هنا تأتي هذه الدراسة لتحاول متابعة الجديد في قضية شغلت وستشغل بال المختصين والمتابعين، طالما البشرية قائمة.
ولقد قسمت الرسالة إلى أربعة فصول، عالج الأول المشكلة البيئية وكيفية معالجتها وفقاً لمؤتمر ستوكهولم (1972)، فيما عالج الفصل الثاني الإطار الذي تمت فيه معالجة قضايا البيئة في مؤتمر الريو (1992)، أما الفصل الثالث فقد شرح المعالجات التي تمت في مؤتمرات كوبنهاغن (2009) وكانكون (2010) ودوربان (2011) والدوحة (2012).
فيما عرض الفصل الرابع كيفية حماية البيئة وتلافي الأسوأ، عبر التعاون الدولي من خلال الأطر القانونية الملزمة واللجوء إلى الطاقات المتجددة، وتضمنت الخاتمة الإستنتاجات التي توصل إليها البعض، وكذلك بعض المقترحات والتوصيات.
