"القاص فالح عبد العزيز الصغير، عمل في المجال الصحفي أكثر من 20 عاماً أجرى خلالها لقاءات مع ملوك ورؤساء دول، وقام بعمل رئيس التحرير خلال غيابه، بعد أن تدرج في العمل الصحفي حتى وصل مديراً للتحرير بصحيفة (اليوم) وكتب العديد من الأعمال المهنية القريبة من الناس، لكن ذلك لم ينسه القصة القصيرة وعوالمها الحميمية- فكتب مجموعته "المرفوض". وفى حوار صحفى عن كيفية كتابته القصة أجاب: "من المتعارف عليه أن أي عمل يأتي في مخاض مختلف، فلكل كاتب طريقته وأسلوبه في صياغة الأجواء السردية، والفكرة قد تأتي في لحظات غير متوقعة ودون تخطيط مسبق، وعموماً فإن الشخصية في القصة والرواية هي شخصيات مختلفة في تفاصيلها ونفسياتها ما يجعلك تصل إلى مرحلة تقمص تلك الشخصيات التي تقوم برسمها، وربما يصل الأمر إلى مرحلة متعبة نفسياً للكاتب جراء تقمصه لتلك الشخصيات".
