ويعتبر الحجة آية الله السيد "محمد باقر الحكيم" من الرعيل الأول من تلامذة الشهيد السعيد آية الله العظمى السيد "محمد باقر الصدر" في دفع تيار الحركة الإسلامية بإتجاه الأهداف الإسلامية العليا تنظيراً وبرمجة وحضوراً فاعلاً في الساحة الجهادية في كل أشواطها حتى حظي كأستاذه بلقاء ربه شهيداً بعد إقامته لصلاة الجمعة، في الحرم الحيدري الشريف في غرة رجب الحرام سنة 1424.
وإذ نقدم هذا الكتاب إلى الأمة الإسلامية بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية الأولى لإستشهاد رئيس المجلس الأعلى للتقريب بين المذاهب الإسلامية، فإن أقل ما يلزمنا أن نقدم هذه الصفحات من حياته المشرقة والقبسات من خطواته الرائدة في مجال الفكر ومجال العمل ومجال الجهاد والشهادة.
