إن خصلة النفاق ما زالت في ازدياد وانتشار بين الناس رغم مخالفتها للفطرة السليمة، ومع أن الضرر منها ظاهر للعيان، مفسد للصلات بين الناس، مانع لظهور الحق، منحرف بسالكيه عن سواء السبيل والطريق المستقيم.
وبين يدينا رسالة "صفة النفاق وذم المنافقين" للعالم المحدث "أبي بكر جعفر بن محمد الفريابي"، وهي تأتي في هذا الإطار ولأهميتها فقد اعتنى "زهير الشاويش حيث قام بمراجعة مخطوطاتها والطبعة السابقة لها في مصر سنة (1349هـ) وأثبت ما غلب على ظنه صحته من غير أن يثبت الاختلافات الشكلية التي لا يتوقف عليها علم أو نفع وأرجع الآيات الكريمة إلى مواضعها في المصحف الشريف.
وخرج الأحاديث بالإحالة على موضعها في الكتب الميسرة التي هي فهارس للأمهات، وأكثر تداولاً وتناولاً منها.
