يعرض الكاتب سلسلة من الأحداث المعالجة روائياً، والتي تتوغل في عمق السياسة الأميركية ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط، بيد أن أسلوبه الساخر تارة، والفلسفي تارة أخرى يعطي قدراً كبيراً من مقدرته على التوظيف السردي، ما يجعل من الرواية فريدة في موضوعها ولغتها الأدبية الراقية التي تشعر القارئ بسلاسة اللغة العربية.
تتجسد في الرواية شخصيات عربية يائسة من واقعها المعاش، من سياسييها، من عاداتها الاجتماعية، شخصياتها تتمرد على طريقتها الخاصة، فيما يقودها تمردها المجنون نحو تحقيق نصر لم يستطع الساسة صنعه لأمتهم.
