لم يحظ تراث فى دين ما عناية أتباعه الأوائل بما حظى به القرآن الكريم والسنة المحمدية وقد تزايدت تلك العناية على مر القرون فنشات علوم القرآن وعلوم الحديث وما اتصل بهما من فروع العلم الأخري فى العقيدة والشريعة.
على أن الأمة الإسلامية وقد أخذت تتسع رقعتها لم تخل جنباتها من أعداء يكيدون لها فى الظاهر والباطن, فكان من هؤلاء الأعداء من اتجه إلى دس الخرافات والقصص والروايات الكاذبة وترويجها فيما يتصل بتفسير القرآن ودس الأحاديث الموضوعة وترويجها فيما يروي من الحديث.
ولم ينتبه بعض العلماء فى القرون الأولى إلى خطورة الأخذ مما روجه الكائدون, ولافطنوا إلى الزور والأفتراء فيما ورد بكتب أهل الكتاب التى حرفت على مر القرون, فكانت بعض تفاسيرهم تحوى كما يقال "الدرة والآجرة".
بيد ان العقول المستنيرة-وقد هالها ما يشوب تراثنا ويطمس من أصالته-أخذت تنادى بضرورة مراجعة التراث الدينى بعين واعية متبصرة, لتعرف ما شابه من مآخذ, والتنبيه على ذلك وتبصير القارئ به.
ولسنا نزعم أن هذه العناية نجمت فى عصرنا الحديث, فقد هيأ الله لدينه على مر القرون علماء ممن رزقوا التوفيق فى التقوى والفقه فى الدين.
ولكن ظهرت بصورة شديدة ماسة إلى هذه المراجعة والتنقية منذ أوائل هذا القرن, حين ووجه الفكر السلامى بتيارات الغرب الفكرية, العلمانية والمسيحية, تلك التى هاجمته بضراوة, واضطرته إلى أن يقف موقف الدفاع.
وهذا الكتاب: "الإسرائيليات فى التفسيروالحديث" للأستاذ الفاضل الشيخ محمد الذهبى نرجو ان يكون للقارئ المسلم مصباحا يستنير به إذ يطالع فى بعض مراجع التفسير, فيسير على هدى وبصيرة. وبالله عز وجل صلاح الأمر وبلوغ الرشد والهداية إلى الطريق المستقيم.
