كتابُ (الخصائص) حلقةٌ في سلسلةِ مؤلَّفات مثَّلثْ مظهرَ ثراءٍ وتنوُّعٍ في تراثنا: إذ تداخلَتْ فيه مُعطياتُ اللغة والنَّحو ومُفرزاتُ المنطقِ وأُصولِ الفقه تداخُلاً مَنَحَ البحثَ اللغويُّ والنحويَّ إطاراً وبُعداً متميِّزيْنِ اكسباهُ عُمقاً وطرافةً لا عهدَ له بهما.
فلَيْسَ المَعنِيُّ بــ(الخصائص) إذن المبتدئين ولا الشُّداةَ، بل ولا النَّحويِّين التقليديِّين الذين لا يجمعون إلى النَّحوِ علماً آخر أو عُلوماً ترفدُ عِلمَهم بالنَّحوِ وتجعلهُم مُهيَّئين للكلام على أمثالِ هذه الخصائص ووُلوجِ عوالمها.
فلمّا كان الكتابُ مُوجَّهاً لخاصَّة الخاصَّةِ من أهلِ العِلم مّمن جمعَ علومَ العربيّةِ والمنطق وأصولِ الفقه جميعاً جاء مشحوناً بمباحث علمي المنطق وأصول الفقه ومُصطلحاتِهِما، التي لا يَقدِرُ على فَهمِها والتَّعامل معها إلا من مَهَرَ فيهما معاً ونال من كلٍّ منهما نصيباً وافراً.
لا شَكَّ في أنَّ هذا الكتاب سيكونُ لبنةُ مُهمَّةً في بنية المُدوَّنَةِ النحويَّة العربيَّة في عَصرٍ باتَ تداخُلُ مُعطياتِ اللسانيّاتِ والمنطقِ فيه أمراً يشغلُ حيِّزاً كبيراً مِن إهتمام المُتخصِّصين في المجاليْن معاً.
