نحن هنا أمام أحد علماء القطيف هو الشيخ محمد آل عبد الجبار القطيفي البحراني سليل الأسرة العلمية واحد أعلام القرن الثالث عشر الذي فاقت شهرته العلمية إقليم البحرين وتعدته لإيران والعراق، وتفرّقت مصنفاته بينهم والكثير منها وقف علماء علمائهم والذي فاقت مصنفاته عن (130) مصنفاً بين رسالة قصيرة وكتب ذات أجزاء متعددة، هذا ما أمكنني من حصره، واشتهر بشرحه لأصول الكافي المسمى بــ (هُدي العقول) والذي يُعد من أكبر شروحات الكافي والذي بلغ عدد مجلداته (15) أو أكثر من الحجم الكبير.
وليس فقط (هُدي العقول) الذي طبّقت شهرته بل مجموعة من مؤلفاته التي آلَ على نفسه خدمة الدين مثل كتابه (الردّ على النّصارى)، وخدمة المذهب مثل كتابه (الرد على ابن تيمية) وغيرهم.
وبعد تصديري إجازته للطّبَسْيّ عام 1437هـ وإطلاعي على مجموعةِ من مؤلفاته على الطبيعة بنّسَخٍ مختلفة أو من خلال فهارس المخطوطات أو الكتب والمجلات، آليت على نفسي بتوثيقها في كتاب واحد لتكون سهلة التناول للباحثين والمحققين، ولتبيان عظمة هذا الرجل الذي خدم الدين والمذهب.
