هذا الكتاب هو جهد علمي متواضع، أدعو الله عز وجل أن يكون إضافة مهمة تغني المكتبة العربية، ويكون عوناً لكل أب ومعلم وهم ينهضون بمهمة تربية أبنائهم من النشء الجديد.
وقد توزع علي أربعة فصول رئيسية، تصدر فصل منها عرض لواحدة من مراحل النمو في الطفولة وفقاً لترتيبها: مرحلة الرضاعة (مرحلة المهد) 1-2 سنة، مرحلة الطفولة المبكرة (مرحلة الحضانة ورياض الأطفال) 3-5 سنة، مرحلة الطفولة الوسطي 6-8 سنة، مرحلة الطفولة المتأخرة 9-12 سنة.
ثم تعرضت فيما بعد مشكلات كل مرحلة من هذه المراحل، إذ طرحت كل مشكلة وشخصت أسبابها، وقدمت الأساليب العلاجية المناسبة لها، وقد تم التوسع في طرح بعض المشكلات زيادة عما تقدم تبعا لأهمية المشكلة عندما وجدت أن الحاجة تقتضي هذا التوسع.
