عمد المؤلف في هذا الكتاب إلى التعرض لجميع المشكلات المتعلقة بالأدوات التمويلية التي تتعامل بها البنوك الإسلامية في الوقت الحالي، وأثبت، من خلال التحليل الشرعي والاقتصادي، عدم شرعيتها، وأنها جميعًا تؤول في النهاية إلى جنس بيوع العينة. وكذلك تعرض للمشكلات المتعددة المتعلقة بالهيكل الحالي للأصول والخصوم في تلك البنوك والذي أصبح الآن مكتظًا بالديون. وبين أن النتيجة الطبيعية لهذا التراكم الكبير من المشكلات في نهاية الأمر، هو استحالة قبول العمل المصرفي الإسلامي في إطاره الكلي المطبق حاليًا. وأوضح أن هذا النظام إذا لم يخضع لبرنامج إعادة هيكله بالكامل سيواجه ثلاثًا من أعضل المشكلات في السوق النقدية للدولة؛ وهي: أولًا: استشراء بيوع العينة، ومن ثم الربا في هذه السوق، ثانيًا: عدم استحواذ البنوك الإسلامية لأي مركز احتكاري فيها يمكنها من التأثير على حجم الطلب على السلع والخدمات، مما يؤدي إلى عدم فعالية الأدوات النقدية التي يستخدمها البنك المركزي، ثالثًا: تعاظم مشكلة غلبة أرصدة الديون على المراكز المالية للبنوك الإسلامية وما يتبعها من الوقوع في مفاسد متعددة؛ كالربا والغرر والغبن. وبناءًا على ذلك خصص المؤلف الباب السادس والأخير من هذا الكتاب لاستعراض أهم ملامح النموذج البديل، الذي يقترحه كحل مقبول لعملية إعادة هيكلة البنوك الإسلامية.
