والغيب والشهادة: معنيان إضافيان، فالشيء الواحد يمكن أن يكون غيباً بالنسبة إلى شيء، وشهادة بالنسبة إلى آخر؛ وللحكماء - من القدماء والمتأخرين - معارك حامية في إختلاف الآراء والأقوال عن الغيب ومتعلقاته، فهناك من لا يؤمن بالغيب، ولا يعوّل إلا على الإدراكات الحسية فقط.
وهناك من يؤمن بالغيب، بمعناه الإيمان بالله تعالى، ومن ثم بالأصول الثلاثة (التوحيد والنبوة والميعاد)؛ وموضوع كتابنا هذا هو من مواضيع الغيب الشائكة، لتعلقه بمحاولة بحث كيفية بدء وجود الكائنات والمخلوقات، ومختص تحديداً بكفية بدء وجود الإنسان، وما مرت عليه من نشئآت مختلفة، وما جرى عليه من أمور الإشهاد والإقرار، وما أخذ عليه من عهود ومواثيق متكررة في تلك العوالم، حتى وصوله إلى نشأة الدنيا.
