"هذه الرواية تخييل يستند إلي تخييلات كثيرة أخري, وإعادة تفسير من ضمن تفسيرات يسجلها الخيال البشري حول أصولنا من أزمنة سخيفة" في هذه الرواية ولأن صاحبتها شاعرة في الأساس, ستنتفي الحدود بين الشعر والسرد, وستأخذ المؤلفة بيد سردها وشخوصها إلي مكونات الشعر الأولي منطلقاته الفلسفية وتجريديته أحياناً وكشفه لمواطن الجمال أحياناً أخري, ولغته المكثفة المثقلة بأكثر من وجه للحقيقة في أغلب الأحيان.
هذه الرواية لا تعيد إنتاج الماضي أو تنتاص مع قصة توارتية شهيرة, وإنما تكتب قلقها الوجودي وتصيغ سؤالاً مأزقه بصورة خاصة ومتفردة عشرات المرات من منطلقات مختلفة.
أعتمدت "جيوكوندا بيلي" في روايتها علي مصادر ومراجع كثيرة أهمها.. "مخطوطة نجع حمادي" التي عثر عليها راع في كهوف مصر العليا عام 1944, و "مخطوطات البحر الميت" التي عثر عليها في وادي قمران عام 1948, و "المبندرا" وهي أهم حكم الحاحامات المشهورين المتوارثة علي أمتداد قرون لتوضيح ما أستغلق فهمه من لغة العهد القديم.
