يضم الكتاب "الدرة المضيئة في عقيدة الفرقة المرضية" نظماً لأمهات مسائل عقائد السلف، في أسلوب سلس عذب، عدّه الناظم مائتا بيت وبضعة عشر، وهي تكفي وتشفي من معظم الخلاف الذي ذاع في زمن المؤلف وانتشر. وقد قام المصنف الشيخ السفاريني بشرحها شرحاً مبسوطاً سماه "لوامع الأنوار البهية وسواطع الأسرار الأثرية" وهو كتاب جليل القدر وهذا المجلد مختصر منه يحتوي على غالب مهماته. حيث أنه ولقصور الهمم وكثرة الاشتغال، تميل النفوس للاختصار وخشية الإحلال. فقام الشيخ بن سلوم باختصاره، منتقياً درره وفوائده، دون إطناب ممل أو اختصار مخل. يسهل على المبتدئين حفظه وتنفعهم معانيه ولفظه. وصاحب هذا المختصر هو محمد بن سلوم التميمي، ولد في قرية العطار من قرى نجد، وقرأ القرآن في صغره، ونشأ في طلب العلم، حج واستجاز علماء الحرمين وأجازوه، كان تقياً نقياً، وعالماً عابداً، دائم المطالعة. ترك تآليف عديدة منها: الشرح الكبير للبرهانية في الفرائض، حقق فيه ودقق. ومنها أيضاً مختصر الخاطر، ومختصر شرح عقيدة السفارين، ومختصر مجموع المنقور وغيرها. توفي سنة 1246هـ وأما ناظم وشارح هذه العقيدة الفريدة فهو الشيخ محمد بن الحاج أحمد بن سالم السفاريني، نسبة إلى سفارين، قرية من أعمال نابلس، الإمام العلامة الذي جمع بين الأمانة والفقه، والحديث وفنون العلم، ولد سنة 1114هـ، قرأ على عدة مشايخ أعلام ما بين شاميين ومصريين وحرميين وغيرهم، وأجيز بغالب الكتب المشهورة له تصانيف عديدة ومفيدة، انتشرت بين أهل العلم. منها كتابه هذا "لوامع الأنوار البهية وسواطع الأسرار الأثرية".
كتاب في العقيدة وعلم التوحيد، اختصر فيه المصنف كتاب "لوامع الأنوار" الذي شرح فيه مؤلفه الشيخ محمد بن سالم السفاريني منظومته في العقيدة، وجاء اختصاره للشرح بناء على رغبة طلبة العلم بتسهيل التحصيل وطلب العلماء بتسهيل الإلقاء. وجاء التحقيق زيادة في الفائدة والثبوت.
