الأنشطة اللغوية من الوسائل الفعالة التي يستخدمها المعلم وتستعين بها المدرسة الحديثة في تحقيق أهداف تعليم اللغة العربية، حيث أصبح مسلما به أن اللغة لا تعلم بقواعد وقوالب منطقية منظمة وحدها، بقدر ما يتم تعليمها بالتقليد والمحاكاة والممارسة السليمة في مواقف حية تشبه مواقف الحياة إلى حد كبير، وهنا تأتي الأنشطة اللغوية بمجالاتها المتنوعة لتمثل أفضل الوسائل لبلوغ هذه الغايات المنشودة.
والناظر في هذا الكتاب يجد أن المؤلفين قد تناولوا فيه بعض الأنشطة اللغوية التمثيلية (كلعب الأدوار والمناظرات والتمثيل المسرحي)، وبعض مهارات كل من التعبير الشفوي والقراءة الجهرية بمواحل التعليم العام، والإفادة مما توافر لهم من نتائج بعض البحوث والكتابات المتصلة بطريق تدريس اللغة العربية في مجال الأنشطة اللغوية وتنمية بعض مهاراتها.
فلعب الأدوار هو أحد الأنشطة التعليمية التي تعتمد على الأداء اللغوي التمثيلي لبعض القصص والنصوص الشعرية، التي صيغت بأسلوب حواري بين مجموعة من الشخصيات التي يقوم بها الطلاب بلعب أدوارها في ضوء ميولهم وقدراتهم.
ويهدف هذا النشاط إلى تدريب التلاميذ على التحدث والتعبير السليم، والطلاقة في القراءة، وإجادة فن الحوار وتنمية الثورة اللغوية، مع انتقاء الألفاظ واستخدام اللغة استخداما صحيحا وزيادة الثقة بالنفس، من خلال فن الإلقاء والمشاركة ولعب الأدوار في بعض المواقف المتشابهة - إلى حد كبير - مع واقع حياتهم اليومية، مما يروح عن نفوسهم، ويبعد عنهم الملل، وينمي لديهم مهارات التعبير الشفوي والقراءة الجهرية، بل وغير ذلك مما ينمي عرضا من المهارات المصاحبة.
