تعالج هذه الدراسة، ذات الطابع الأكايمي، واحدة من أهم المعضلات التي ستواجه بلدان الشرق الأوسط في السنوات القادمة، وتحديداً البلدان المشمولة بحوضي دجلة والفرات. إذ تذهب الدراسة إلى إيضاح معادلة الصراع بين ثلاثة بلدان يشملها الحوض هي تركيا، وسوريا والعراق… وتغور في ماهية الأبعاد الكامنة لهذه الأزمة من خلال تحليل جدلية التناقض القائمة بين المياه والتصحير. وتغوص الدراسة كذلك في تاريخية الإشكالية بين هذه الدول عبر المواثيق والاتفاقيات المشتركة مقارنة إياها بتطور القانون الدولي. كما تتابع الدراسة تأثير المسألة المائية على الأبعاد الاقتصادية عامة والزراعية خاصة لدول حوض خاتماً إياها بصورة موضوعية إلى اقتراح جملة من الحلول لهذه الأزمة عبر إعادة تقسيم حصص المياه بين دول الحوض تمتاز الراسة بالموضوعية المقترنة بالمنطق العلمي والتاريخي والبمثابرة التي دامت أ:ثر من ثلاث سنوات والمستندة إلى الخبرة العلمية والعملية التي امتاز بها المؤلف وبتعددية المصادر وتنوعها.. إنها دراسة جديرة بالتقدير. باحث بشؤون المياه في الشرق الأوسط. ولد في مدينة كربلاء (العراق) في 2 أيار 1956. درس في كلية الزراعة ونال درجة البكالوريوس عام 1984-1985 من جامعة تشرين السورية. عمل لمدة خمس سنوات كمسؤول عن إدارة الانتاج الحراجي في محافظة اللاذقية (سوريا) بقسميها: التحريج الاصطناعي والمشاتل الحراجية، وعضواً في المجلس الانتاجي والبيئي للمحافظة. عمل محاضراً في الدورات التدريبية التي أعدتها وزارة الزراعة والإصلاح الزراعي في سوريا لرؤساء المشاتل وفرق التحريج الاصطناعي. دعي للمشاركة في ثلاثة مؤتمرات عالمية عن المياه في عام 1997-1998 في كل من جامعة استوكهولم وجامعة لوند في السويد وجامعة لندن في المملكة المتحدة. في المجال الصحفي كتب عشرات الدراسات والمقالات العلمية عن المشاكل البيئية في العالم، الأمن الغذائي العربي، أزمة السكان في العالم، الاستثمار الحراجي وتنمية الغابات في العالم، وأزمة المياه في الشرق الأوسط. مقيم في السويد منذ عام 1990.
