لما كانت العلوم المنطقية والمباحث الفلسفية الحكمية تحتاج إليها الأحكام الشرعية والقضايا الفقهية والمسالك العقلية المتفقة مع المسائل العقدية، وكانت وسائل مقاصد المكلفين ومناط مصالح الدنيا والدين وأجلّ العلوم قدراً وأعلاها شرفاً وذكراً لما يتعلق بها من مصالح العباد في المعاش والمعاد؛ كانت أولى بالإلتفات إليها وأجدر بالإعتماد عليها.
وحيث كان لا سبيل إلى إستثمارها، دون النظر في مسالكها ولا مطمع في إقتناصها من غير إلتفات إلى مداركها، كان من اللازمات والقضايا الواجبات البحث في أغوارها والكشف عن أسرارها، والإحاطة بمعانيها والمعرفة بمبانيها حتى تذلل طرق الإستثمار وينقاد جموح غامض الأفكار.
ولذلك، كان تحقيق هذا الكتاب الذي هو يعتبر خلاصة علوم الشيخ الرئيس ابن سينا - رحمه الله تعالى - حيث هو من آخر مصنفاته الحكمية، وقد شرحه كثير من اهل العلم، ومن أهم هذه الشروح: شرح الفخر الرازي، وهو إمام عظيم له مكانته وقدره الرفيع، وشرحه الأصل هو: "الإنارات في شرح الإشارات والتنبيهات" كما ذكره البغدادي في "هدية العارفين" (503/ 1)، وهو مخطوط، لم يطبع ولم نقف عليه؛ سوى مواضع المغالطات التي أوردها الشيخ الآمدي هنا، وللرازي مختصر وشرح آخر، ألحقناه بآخر الكتاب، وهو: "لباب الإشارات والتنبيهات".
وهذا الكتاب الذي بين يديك يحوي فوائد مهمة في العلوم الحكمية، بل خلاصتها العلمية الوافية، لأئمة هم أقطاب علم الكلام والأصول والعقيدة، لا غنى عن قراءته والإطلاع عليه والإستفادة منه لكل من أراد إستيفاء المسالك العقلية لديه، ويكفينا أن مصنفيه: الرئيس ابن سينا، والفخر الرازي، والسيف الآمدي، ومطرزاً بنصير الدين الطوسي (رحمهم الله تعالى).
