نظراً لما لمسته من ندرة الكتب العربية والأجنبية التى تتناول ظاهرة الإرهاب الدولى واستخدام المتفجرات فى مجال الإرهاب الدولى واستخدام المتفجرات فى مجال الإرهاب، فقد آليت على نفسى أن أضع كتاباً يدعم المكتبة العربية، ويتعرض بالدراسة للعمل الإرهابى ووسائله وطرق مواجهته والحد منه. وعملت على أن يتميز الكتاب بالمزج بين الجانب العملى التطبيقى لكيمياء المتفجرات والجانب الاجتماعى لظاهرة الارهاب لأجعل منه مؤلفاً شاملاً يخدم قضايا الأمن، لذلك أصبح هذا الكتاب بما يحويه من مادة علمية ومعلومات وفيرة مرجعا لا غنى عنه للعسكريين والمدنيين على السواء، كما ان دراسته بعمق واقتناءه يعتبران ضرورة حتمية لكل مهتم بعلم المتفجرات وللعاملين فى مجالا الأمن ومكافحة الارهاب.
ويتعرض الكتاب بالدراسة والتحليل لأساليب تأمين الأهداف مشيرا إلى أن إنفاق الأموال الطائلة على الطرق التكنولوجية أو الفنية المتقدمة فى مجال التأمين ليس هو الحل الأمثل لمكافحة الإرهاب، بل يجب توجيه الجهود لزيادة فاعلية إجراءات الأمن الذاتية والتركيز على الاجراءات اليدوية كزيادة فاعلية التفتيش عند مافذ دخول البلاد، كما يوضح الكتاب أن ظاهرة مقاومة الإرهاب بطرق الردع والقمع يجب ألا تأتى فى المقام الأول بل يجب البدء فى علاج القضية السياسية والعمل الجدى على اقتلاع جذور الإرهاب وعلاج أسبابه.
