قرر الإسلام مبدأ المساواة بين الناس في أكمل صورة، وأمثل أوضاعه، واتخذه دعامة لجميع ماسنه من نظم لعلاقات الأفراد بعضهم مع بعض، وطبقه في جميع النواحي التي تقتضي العدالة الاجتماعية وتقتضي كرامة الإنسان أن يطبق في شؤونها: فأخذ به فيما يتعلق بتقدير القيمة الإنسانية المشتركة بين أفراد الآدميين، وأخذبه فيما يتعلق بالحقوق المدنية وشؤون المسؤولية والجزاء والحقوق العامة، كحق العمل، وحق التعليم والثقافة، وأخذ به فيما يتعلق بشؤون الاقتصاد. وأقامه في كل ناحية من هذه النواحي الثلاث على قواعد واضحة متينة تكفل حمايته من العبث والانحراف، وتتيح له تحقيق أقصى ما يمكن تقيقه من خير للإفراد والجماعات. وسيقف المؤلف في هذا الكتاب على كل ناحية من هذه النواحي ثلاث باباً على مدة يشرح فيه بإيجاز موقف الإسلام حيالها، ويوازن بين موقفه وموقف أهم الشرائع الأخرى قديمها وحديثها. وسيتبين له من هذه الموازنة مبلغ سمو التشريع الإسلامي، ودقة تعاليمه، وعجز الشرائع الأخرى عن الإتيان بمثله، وقصورها عن تحقيق ما يحققه من أهداف.
