كأديب نازعتني نفسي للكتابة عما عشته وشاركت في صنعه وشاهدته في ميادين ثورة 25 يناير، ولكنني تخوفت من الإنصياع لها كي لا أقع في المحاذير التي يتأباها ضميري الأدبي، لذا سألت نفسي: هل تقبلين يا نفس إتياني كتابة من هذه النوعية أو تلك؟.. أجابت: لا بأس بالخروج على القيود، أنت أول من يعلم أنني دائبة التحطيم والترك لكل ما يعوق ويكبل، قلت: أعلم.. لكن هل يرضيك أن تنسب إليك كتابة موسومة بالمباشرة والخفة والضحالة؟ ردت هذه النفس الأمارة بالسوء لكن لن يعدم الرائي لهذه الكتابات التي يستنكفها أن يجد فيها ملامح وتفاصيل وحكايات تحمل جينات وكروموسومات ثورة يناير التي عشتها وشاركت فيها، قلت: نعم.. لكن منها ملامح باهتة، وتفاصيل بسيطة، وحكايات ساذجة، فردت عليّ: لكنها مع هذا صادقة.. وإذ رأتني أضع جبهتي على راحتي وأطرق متعباً تحيراً، قالت لي: هون عليك. سأدلك على ما ينبغي أن تكتبه، ويصلح للحال التي أنت والبلاد عليها، اكتب اليوميات. لقد استهدفت من هذا الكتاب تقديم هدية للمؤرخين والباحثين في علوم الإجتماع والسلوك والجغرافيا البشرية، وكذا للأدباء والكتاب والمثقفين، غير متغافل عن القارئ العادي الذي يبحث عن المعارف من مصادر موثوق منها، وأظنها هدية ثمينة بما حوت من: وقائع، وأخبار، وبيانات، ووثائق، وتحليلات، ومشاهد حياتية، ومشاهد حياتية على المستويين الرسمي والشعبي، رصدت في أوقات حدوثها، وفي مواقف يستحيل تكرارها، أو تكرار الظروف التي أوجدتها وأحاطت بها وتخللتها.
