يأتي هذا الكتاب من ضمن إشكاليات "جان لابلانش" أستاذ علم النفس المرضي والتحليل النفسي في جامعة السوربون، ويتناول لابلانش في إشكالياته مفاهيم القلق، اللاوعي والهو (aç)، البعد حين، الخصاء – الترميز، التسامي والبيولوجيا والبيولوجين. وهذه المفاهيم تعتبر قاعدة في التحليل النفسي وعدّة العمل المفاهيمي لطالب علم النفس العيادي. وهذا الكتاب يبحث في تداخل المعاش اليومي مع النزوة المخزنة لدى الفرد، وجاء تحت عنوان "الخابية – ما خلف لاعقلانية النقلة". ويتضمن عدة محاضرات ألقاها الدكتور لابلانش على طلاب جامعة السوريون في الفترة (79-80-81-83-1984م) يدعو فيه لابلانش طلابه إلى أخذ "منها معين" بعين الإعتبار وهو ما يعتبره مخالفاً لفكر الطالب، أي يقصد به تفسيره وتحليله في واقع الحال أي القدرة على عرض هذا الفكر دون تشويهه، وتعريضه للنقد "محاولين فهم وحي ما قد قيل". ويستند لابلانش في أخذه لفكر الآخر بعين الإعتبار على المفهوم الفريدوي باعتباره مفهوم شامل وعالمي، وكذلك بفكر "هيغل" ويستند فيه على المفهوم الهيغلي للعمل "عمل السلبي" ويعتبر أن الفكر الفلسفي يشتغل بالسلبية ويعطي مثالاً في كتابه على الأثاث حيث يقول "إن التشغيل إذاً ليس فقط إعادة العمل، ومراجعة الأمور بشكل مختلف، بل هو جعل الشيى يصدر صريراً"..." ويعني بذلك لابلانش شحذ وسنّ تناقضات معينة، في بحوثنا حتى نصل إلى محاولة إعطائها معنى وحقاً. وهو ليس للذة الإشارة إلى التناقضات فقط، ولوضع مؤلف ما في تناقض مع نفسه (كما نقول عادة: كل هذا ليس صحيحاً ولن يطول، بل لإستعادة روح هذه التناقضات كما يرى لابلانش.
يستعمل لابلانش في حديثه عن الوضعية التحليلة عبارة "منهج" فيقول "لا توجد منهجية تحليلية بدون تحديد وضعية معينة. إن ما يهمني في الوضعية التحليلية، هو محاولة معرفة كيف أن المنهجية والوضعية هما عملية تجعل ما هو مجسداً ومادياً أي جعل المادة التي تخرج من الوسطاء الروحيين مادية ومجسدة على شكل أعضاء أو أشخاص – هما إذاً عملية تجسّد فكرة معينة عن الشخص الذي يدخل في التحليل ويتحقق من ذاته فيه".
كذلك يشتغل لابلانش في مؤلفه هذا على نظرية النزوات ويتخذ موضوع "الحفاظ على الذات بـ "الجنس" ومعارضة نزوات "الحياة" الجنسية بنزوات "الموت" الجنسية ...".
