في كتابه هذا، يقف الأستاذ أحمد الكايد على جذور الديانة المجوسية والرسالة التي تحملها وأهدافها وفلسفتها، وكما يشير المؤلف تَعُد الزرادشتية (المجوسية) من أديان الفرس القديمة؛ حيث يعتقد الزرادشتيون بوجود إله للخير يسمونه "أهورامزدا" رب الخير. وفي عقيدتهم أيضاً يوجد مصدر للشر يسمونه "آهرمان"، ومعناه الخبيث. وتنسب الزرادشتية إلى (زرادشت) المولود قبل ميلاد عيسى بحوالي 660 سنة بأذربيجان بفارس. وهو يرى أن تاريخ العالم يتمثل في الصراع بين الخير الذي يمثله الإله "أهورامزدا" والشر الذي يمثله الإله "أهرمان" ، و "أهورامزدا" لا يمكن أن يكون مسؤولاً عن الشر، لأن الشر جوهر مثله مثل الخير؛ وأن هاتين القوتين وجهان للموجود الأول الواحد؛ لذلك لا بد أن يكون بعد الموت حياة أخرى، بعدما ينتصر الإله الأوحد على الشر، أما روح الشر وأتباعها فيحترقون في المعدن الملتهب، عندها يبدأ العالم السعيد الخير الذي لا شر فيه ويدوم سرمدياً.
يغطي الكتاب نشأة زرادشت والكثير من الأساطير التي تتحدث عن ولادته وحياته وخوارقه ووصايا زرادشت العشرة، ومضمون كتاب (الافيستا) وهو الكتاب المقدس لدى أتباع الديانة الزردشتية مع صور خطية أرشيفية عنه، وكما يستعرض الكتاب نبذة عن الترانيم والدعوات في الديانة الزردشتية، ومكان (كعبة زرادشت) في إيران والبناء الفني لها والكتابات الحفرية والنقوش التي تحيط بالبناء، ويخصص مبحثاً لتأثير الديانة المجوشية على الديانات الأخرى، ولا سيما اليهودية والنصرانية والإسلام (كيوم الحساب، البعث، الله والشيطان). ويختتم الكتاب بنصوص ومحاورات وصلوات وإرشادات عن مبادىء وتعاليم (الافيستا) وزرادشت مثل: معنى الدرون، خصائص النار، عن جوهر البعث، وواجبات الأطفال ... وغيرها.
