الجريمة قديمة قدم المجتمع الإنساني، وقد ساهمت العديد من العلوم في محاولة فك طلاسم الفعل الإجرامي ومحاولة فهمه ولم يكن علم النفس ببعيد عن هذه الإسهامات التي تحاول فك غموض السلوك الإنساني.. ما هي الجريمة وما أنواعها وما هي الدوافع التي تكمن خلف إرتكاب السلوك الإجرامي وما هي الإجتهادات المختلفة التي حاولت فهم الجريمة ومسبباتها وما ينتج عنها من آثار ونتائج. مثل: القوادة، النشل، القتل، البغاء، الإغتصاب، والجرائم التي ترتكب بدافع الحب وهي محاولة جريئة نحو فضح (المسكوت) عنه من جرائم وفي نفس الوقت محاولة علمية جادة لفهم السلوك الإجرامي في شبكة تعقداته وتبايناته، ولذا فإن هذا الكتاب لا غنى عنه لجميع المتخصصين في العلوم الإنسانية والإجتماعية والقانونية والعلاجية والتأهيلية والوقائية بل وحتى للقارئ العادي.
