توزع العمل على اثنا عشر فصلاً تحدث فيها الكاتب عن تاريخ مجيس وجغرافيتها والنهضة المباركة 1970، والعلاقات الإجتماعية والأسرية، والجانب الإقتصادي والتجاري، والجانب الصحي ثم الرياضي، يليه الثقافي، والزراعة والصيد البحري والصناعات والحرف التقليدية، والعادات والتقاليد والفنون الشعبية وأشهر علماء وخطباء وأئمة المساجد وأدوارهم الدعوية والتاريخية مع نبذة عن كل واحد منهم ... وموضوعات أخرى ذات صلة.
