ثمة علاقة فارقة تميز الآداب عامة، والأدب الروسي خاصة. وهي ازدهار الأدب الساخر، أو ما يمكن أن ندعوه مجازاً بـ "أدب العدسة المكبرة"، في المراحل الانتقالية الصعبة التي يمر بها هذا المجتمع أو ذاك.
وهذه ظاهرة طبيعية إيجابية. فمن الملاحظ في الآداب عامة، أن ازدهار السخرية والفكاهة، وانتشار التورية والعبارات القارصة والتلميحية، والمبالغة، يتزامن أكثر ما يتزامن، مع مراحل التحولات.
الثورية والتغيرات الاجتماعية الكبيرةن والانتقال من نظام اجتماعي - سياسي إلى نظام آخر. ولم يشذ الأدب الروسي عن هذه القاعدة. فقد ازدهر الأدب الروسي الساخر، والقصة الروسية القصيرة الساخرة تحديداً، وانتشر انتشاراً واسعاً في السنوات العشرة الأولى التي أعقبت ثورة أكتوبر عام 1917، وفي أعقاب "البيريسترويكا" وانهيار الاتحاد السوفييتي في لاثمانينيات والتسعينيات من القرن العشرن والعقد الأولى من القرن الحادي والعشرين (من الفترات النادرة والفريدة في مجال الأدب الساخر، والقصة الروسية القصيرة الساخرة والانتقادية الفكاهية. ولعل أًصدق دليل على ازدهار هذا الأدب الساخر، في المراحل المذكورة، صدور الأعداد الكبيرة من المجالات الساخرة والفكاهية فيها. ورغم انتشار الأدب الساخر في الأجناس الأدبية المختلفة) الرواية، المسرحية، القصة، القصة القصيرة إلخ لكنه كان أكثر انتشاراً وتركيزاً في أدب القصة القصيرة.
