يهدف هذا الكتاب الى دراسة المؤسسة العسكرية المغولية دراسة شاملة من جميع النواحي التي تتعلق بها مع عدم إغفال أي جزء يتعلق بها من قريب أو من بعيد. ومن هنا فقد حاولت الدراسة الإجابة عن تساؤلات منها: ما أصل المغول؟ وكيف نشأوا؟ وأين؟ ما هي عناصر الجيش المغولي وتقسيماته؟ وما وظيفة كل عنصر؟ ما هي أبرز الأسلحة والمعدات التي استخدمها الجيش المغولي في معاركه؟ ما هي أهم الاستراتيجيات التي تعامل بها المغول مع أعدائهم؟
وقد انتظم عقد هذا الكتاب في خمسة فصول وخاتمة. خصص الفصل الأول لدراسة الجغرافية التاريخية للمغول، أما الفصل الثاني فقد استجلى فيه المؤلف عناصر الجيش المغولي وتقسيماته وفي الفصل الثالث أبرز الأسلحة المغولية التي كانوا يستخدمونها في قتال أعدائهم، وعلى فترات متباعدة من الزمان، وفي الفصل الرابع جرى الحديث فيه عن فنون الحرب والقتال عند المغول من حيث تأهبهم واستعدادهم بكافة التجهيزات للحملات العسكرية. أما الفصل الخامس فقد تصدى فيه للحديث عن الملابس والنفقات والتمويل ووسائل النقل.
واتبع بذلك بخاتمة تضمنت مجمل النتائج التي خرجت بها الدراسة ثم بملخص باللغة الانجليزية لمضمونها وبقائمة للمصادر والمراجع والدوريات والرسائل الجامعية./
