يأتي كتابنا هذا الذي ألفه "ديرك رونتري" حلو دور تكنولوجيا التربية في تطوير المنهج "فهو كتاب لا يتناول الوسائل المعينة السمعية والبصرية" كما اعتاد بعض الناس أن يسميها ولا يدعو لاستخدام التليفزيون ، وماكينات التعليم والحاسبات الالكترونية ، ولا يروج لها باعتبارها أحدث العدد والماكينات التكنولوجية في ميدان التربية ، وإنما يقصد أن يوضح مفهوما، وهو مفهوم تكنولوجيا التعليم ، الذي طالما طمس واختلط بهذه الماكينات واستخدامها على أنه هى. ويقصد "رونتري" أن يرد على أولئك الذين بهرتهم المستحدثات التكنولوجية التى تركب أسلاكها التعليم علم باق الحوائط ، ويرى وله في ذلك كل الحق ان تكنولوجيا التعليم علم باق له حيويته ووظيفته وان اختفت كل هذه الماكينات والآلات الكهربائيةفهي باقية بقاء التربية نفسها ومتسعة اتساع التربية نفسها ويراها الرؤية الصحيحة ، على أنها العلم الذي يعنى بتصميم المواد التعليمية وتقويمها ، وتخطيط الخبرات التعليمية وتقويمها كذلك ، وبمشكلات استحداثها والافادة منها على خير وجه. امضاء فتح الباب عبد الحليم
