"سيرة الخوف" قصص شعرية قصيرة جداً تخرج من هيكل الإرث الشكلي في كتابة القصة القصيرة، عبر مجموعة من الصور والدلالات الرمزية البعيدة، التي تُعبر عن هموم الكاتب وانشغالاته، كما تخاطب نخب المتلقين، في لغة خارجية عن مستوى العام، بجعلها اللغة أداة الشعر وعلامته الفنية الحقيقية التي تروم إلى فتنة المتلقي والدخول به إلى عوالم خاصة. تحت عنوان: "نيازك" نقرأ للكاتب الخطّاب المزروعي: "دفن وجطهه في قاع الكاس المتلألئ، شعر بالحزن في جوفه؛ ككيس من الحجارة يضغط على أحشائه. تذكر حبيبته التي ماتت في حادث سيارة غريب!".. حاول أن يتذكر وجهها، لكنه لم يستطع، ضغط على راسه بلكتا يديه ونظره مصوب نحو المطار؛ حيث الطائرات التي ترجم المدرج بنيازك مصابيحها!".
عبر تلك المضامين تأتي قصص المجموعة، بما فيها من تحليق للذات في عوالم موغلة في الوجع والحلم معاً. وبلغة سيالة مشحونة بالحنين والذكرى ومجاهرة بالذات والداخل والتعبير عن ذلك بصور شعرية مختلفة.
