إنّ الهدف الأسمى لبعثة النبي محمد (ص)، وإنزال القرآن الكريم هو معرفة الله، وتنظيم حياة الإنسان بالشريعة، لقيادته نحو سعادة الدارين؛ ولمّا كان لبّ هذه المعرفة هو الله، فهي تلتقي مع العرفان في هذا الإطار، والسبب: أن من أمّهات المباحث العرفانيّة معرفة الذات الإلهيّة، وأسمائها، وصفاتها على المستوى النظريّ، وكيفيّة التجلّي، والسير في عوالم قوسي الصعود والنزول في العرفان العمليّ، وهذا غير متيسّر بشكل صحيح من دون التوجّه إلى روح الشريعة وباطنها.
فلكي يشتعل وجدان السالك إشراقاً بمعرفة صحيحة، لا بُدَّ وأن يلتزم بظاهر الأحكام الشرعيّة؛ لأنّ إبتداء العمل العرفانيّ يكون من خلال ذلك، وهذا يعني ربط العرفان بالأحكام الشرعيّة والفقه الإسلاميّ، فالفقه هو الشكل الظاهريّ للأحكام، والعرفان هو الحقيقة الباطنة له، ومن هنا قال بعض العرفاء بأنّ الفقه من دون العرفان لا يتجاوز الشكل والظاهر، ولا يوصل العبد إلى باب الله والعروج بالمعراج الحقيقيّ.
وكذلك العرفان من دون الشريعة لا يجد ترجماناً ينقل حقائقه، فالشريعة سلّم الوصول، والعرفان مقصد الوصول، وقد توخيت في بحثي هذا المقارنة بين مسلكين: مسلك محي الدين بن عربي، ومسلك كبار عرفاء الإمامية كالملاّ صدرا، والإمام الخميني (قدّه) وغيرهما.
