إن هذا الكتاب محاولة بإتجاه التنبيه إلى أهمية هذا الفرع المعرفي ضمن حقل نظرية تحليل العلاقات الدولية , الذي هو جدير بالإهتمام من أجل تخطي تعقيدات الواقع العربي المتأزم , والتنبؤ بالمستقبل حتى لا تتكرر مفاجأة الربيع العربي مرة آخرى في السياسة الإقليمية العربية .
الحقيقة أن كل الدراسات العربية مع الإقرار بقلتها لم تستطع أن تؤشر على وقوع أحداث الربيع العربي بسبب ظهور إستقطاب أكاديمي لفترة طويلة قائم على محورين : إتجاه يمثل الفكر التآمري القائمة تحليلاته على توثيق العلاقة بين الأزمات العربية والدور الخارجي , وإتجاه مستغرق في كيل التهم للحكومات العربية بالعمالة والإستبداد والفساد والفشل السياسي .
ليس المقام هنا إثبات صحة أحد هذين الإتجاهين على حساب الآخر , ولكن ماهو مهم التأكيد على أن دراسات السياسة العربية لحد الآن لم تستطع إستيعاب التحولات الدولية منذ سقوط جدار برلين عام 1989 , وأكثر تجلياتها المقاومة غير الناضجة للعولمة وكل ديناميكياتها وتدفقاتها , إلى أن وجدنا أنفسنا يفرض علينا التغيير إما بواسطة الغزو العسكري المباشر أو بواسطة الإضطرابات الإجتماعية والصدام مع الذات .
ومن ثم , تصبح قراءة التاريخ والواقع بطريقة صحيحة ومن وراء ذلك التنبؤ بالمستقبل , هو الطريق نحو فهم وتحليل الواقع العربي المعقد , وتفادي الصدام المأساوي بين الحكومات وشعوبها في المستقبل .
