وُلد الكاتب في "تياس" وهو معلّم متقاعد، كتب روايات ومسرحيات ومجموعات شعرية عديدة، وله قصص للأطفال ومنها: "الشفتان الزرقاوان" (1984، NEAS) و"الحصان العسليّ اللون" (2004، NEAS)؛ يعمل حالياً كمستشار ثقافيّ لرئيس مجلس النواب وكمساعد لرئيس بلدية "تياس"، وقد حاز على عدّة اوسمة.
"على أرض بعيدة عمّن نحب وبعيدة عن ثقافتنا ومقدّساتنا، على أرض كستها الحرب بمعطف محوك بعظام الموتى، وقفنا متكاتفين (إلى جانب إخوتنا في فرنسا)؛ وهبنا كلّ ما نملك إلى فرنسا المحتلّة التي كانت وطننا في تلك الفترة نفانينا في سبيل أعجوبة العبودية التوافقية، مسكونين بالسحر وبقيمنا الخاصة؛ حاربنا من أجلها حتى الموت، حاربنا بالبسالة والصلابة اللتين ورثناهما عن أسلافنا".
يكرم الكاتب من خلال هذا السرد الملحميّ القنّاصين السنغاليين (الذين حاربوا في فرنسا) الذين رؤوا بدمائهم وعرقهم وعطائهم أراضي في أوروبا وغيرها.
