إستكمالاً للسلسلة التي بدأه المؤلف بكتاب "الوجيز في النحو" بدأها المؤلف بكتاب "الوجيز في النحو"، والتي ستشمل جميع المواد الدراسية لمرحلة المقدمات (من صرف وبلاغة وعقيدة...) بأن يكون لكل مادة ثلاث حلقات، لثلاث مراحل (الوجيز، الوسيط، الوسيع)؛ فعمد لنشر كتاب "الوجيز في الإملاء" على أمل إستتباعه بكتابين أوسع وأشمل، فيتلوه (الوسيط في الإملاء) الذي يضاف له بعض الإضافات والتفصيلات، على أمل أن يختم بكتاب (الوسيع في الإملاء) الذي يحوي على النظريات والخلافات الإملائية، مع التفريعات المفيدة للمتخصصين في هذا المجال.
وأما عمله في هذه السلسلة، فإنه اتخذ التدرج في تقديم المعلومات وعرضها، ما يجعل الطالب يدخل على المادة بشكل ممنهج وموضوعي، فليس من الحكمة تجميع معلومات متعددة المستويات، وتلقينها للطالب دونما خطة علمية تهدف لإيصال المطالب شيئاً فشيئاً.
