لقد تم ترجمة كتاب "الوجيز في الصرف الصحي للمدن" من اللغة الألمانية إلى ست عشرة لغة علمية وإلى اللغة العربية في عام 2000 لأنه ذو أهمية في الهندسة البيئية، وهو يؤكد على تطبيق الطرائق العلمية لحل المشاكل المتعلقة بتنمية البني التحتية وتنفيذ منشآت تجميع، ونقل، ومعالجة مياه الصرف الصحي وكذلك إجراءات حماية المصادر المائية من التلوث الناتج عنها.
يزود القسم الأول "أنظمة الصرف الصحي للمدن" الطلاب والمهندسين بمبادئ التصميم الهيدروليكي للقساطل، والمجمّعات الرئيسية، ومنشآت التخفيف المطرية وجميع أنواع الأحواض المطرية، وكذلك بجداول حساب معهودة عديدة.
يغطي القسم الثاني "معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي والحمأة" التقنيات الفيزيائية، والبيولوجية، والكيميائية لعمليات معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي المنزلة والصناعية، مع مراعاة اختيار العمليات، ومعايير التصميم، والتشغيل والتحكم بمحطات المعالجة.
