يكتسي البحث في فكر كلٍّ من: المعلِّم كمال جنبلاط، والإمام السيِّد موسى الصدر، أهمّية كبرى في ظلّ التحولات المعاصرة، لأنه يلقي الضوء على مسائل بالغة التعقيد، من حيث مقاربته للمناحي المعتقدية، سواء في شموليّتها المعرفية، أم في خصوصيتها الثقافية، ولأنه يحاول أن يقدّم قراءة من نوع مختلف، إزاء المجريات العالمية.
ممّا يبيّن أنَّ ما تمّت معالجته بين دفتيّ هذا الكتاب، إنّما يستهدف الكشف عن جديد في فكرَيْ الرجلين، هو إستشراف هذا التحدّي العولمي، الذي يضع الإنسانية اليوم أمام حروب إفتراضية، تنتج أعداء محتملين، وتبحث عن العدالة في ما وراء التدمير والفتك، كما أنه من الملفت لديهما، هو ذلك التطلّع إلى تكافؤ شمولي في الحضارة، وتكاتف إنساني في المجتمعات، وتوالف معرفي في الثقافات، كي يكون بالإمكان إنماء الإنسان، القابل لرؤية ما بعد المكان، والمنعتق الفكر من قيود الدوغمائية، دون أن يحلَّ عُرى الإلتزام بالعمومي، المتركّز في مكانه، او الثقافي المتركّز في معتقده وإنتمائه، ممّا يعطي للحوار بين الثقافات بُعداً إنسانياً، مختلفاً عمّا هو شائع من سوء فهم، ومآلات إلى العنف المغلّف بشمولية عولمية أو دينية، وكأنما هذا العولمي ينزع إلى شمولٍ، يندثر فيه مطلب الهويّات تحت أقدام الحرّيات، بينما يتبدّى الدين إنعطافاً إلى الهوية، على حساب الحرّية، وفي كلا الحالين يبقى الإزدراء أساس معضلة الإخفاق، في الحوار بين الأديان، وفي التلاقي بين الثقافات.
