يتمحور هذا الكتاب حول فكرة أن (الإسلام) هو النظام الأصلح للمجتمع ولحل مشاكل الإنسانية. أعد الكتاب الشيخ هشام نعمان المقدم في محاولة لإبراز صلاحية التشريع الإلهي لإصلاح المجتمع وتنظيمه وقيادته في كل الأزمنة ... ولأن الإسىلام هو آخر التشريعات الإلهية التي أنزلت وهو أكملها يبدأ المؤلف بمناقشة عقيدة الإسلام ومبادئه مع عرض أحكامه في قناعة تامة أنه الأصلح في تنظيم شؤون المجتمع وبما يحقق له الغاية من وجوده، وفي هذا السياق يجول المؤلف في رحاب الإسلام ليبيّن للقارىء كيف اهتم الإسلام بالبناء العقلي للإنسان، وكيف حذره من الإنغماس في الملذات والشهوات، والمحافظة على سلامة الجسد والنفس، أيضاً يتطرق المؤلف إلى طرق التكسب في الإسلام وأثرها على سلوكيات المسلم، وكيف يمكن للإنسان المسلم أن يكون مسؤولاً في هذه الحياة، في السرة، في المجتمع، في العمل، ويخصص المؤلف فصلاً مهماً عن التشريع الإسلامي القائم على العدل بين الناس، باعتبار أن الإسلام دين الفضيلة ودين الجماعة، ولم ينسَ المؤلف مسؤولية الحاكم في الإسلام بشهادة سيدنا علي رضي الله عنه الذي يبيّن عظمة الحاكم في الإسلام عندما يقول: "وإن دنياكم لأهون عليّ من ورقة في فم جرادة، ما لعليّ ونعيم يغنى ولذة لا تبقى". من هنا يرى المؤلف أن "هذه هي القيادة والتربية التي نحن بحاجة إليها ..." وأن الحاكم عليه "أن يقيم العدل ويعطي الحقوق للأفراد ويدفع الأذى عنهم ويحفظ الأمن ...".
ومن موضوعات الكتاب أيضاً يوضح المؤلف احترام الإسلام للمرأة وصون كرامتها وتنظيم علاقتها بالرجل والمجتمع ... وموضوعات أخرى ذات صلة.
