إذا كانت حياة الإنسان غير موجودة بالصدفة، وإنما وراءها المدبر الحكيم-فإنه ما ينبغي لها أن تسير كذلك بالصدفة، وإنما يجب أن تسير على منهج يهديها إلى خير الطرق وأصلح السبل؛ ذلك الذي يحقق لها الخير والسعادة ويجنبها العثرات والمزالق، ولن يرسم ذلك المنهج الحكيم إلا صانعها العليم بما يصلح الإنسان وما يفسده، ومن العجيب أنه قد قام من بين المؤمنين من يريدون فصل الدين عن الحياة، وإقصاء يد الله عن شؤون المجتمع والدولة والأسر التي ينضوون تحتها.
وشاع مثل هذا الزعم: "لا دين مع السياسية ولا سياسة مع الدين" وأخذت كثير من الدول الإسلامية بمبدأ "العلمانية" في دساتيرها، ونظم حياتها. ومن العجب حقاً-لأنهم كمؤمنين يعتقدون بأن الله تعالى خلق كل شيء في الكون من أجلهم ومن أجل حياتهم، ألا يشرع لهم ما ينظم حياتهم وهو العليم بأسرارها وما يصلحها وما يفسدها؟
هذا ما يحاول "رفعت عبد المطلب" توضيحه في هذا الكتيب مركزاً على أن يكون البشر على منهج الله عزّ وجل، وذلك بالإيمان بكل ما جاءت به رسل الله وخاتمهم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم. إن ما يميز هذه الرسالة أنها يمكن أن تكون مدخلاً لدراسة عقيدة الإسلام، إذ أنها تقدم خطوطها الرئيسية بداءً بالإيمان بالرسل، والملائكة والكتب والسماوية واليوم الآخر والقضاء والقدر وانتهاءً بدور العبادات من صلاة وصوم وزكاة وصبح في تجديد الإيمان وبناء المجتمع.
