هذا الكتاب يعد تقسيم الجرائم التي تحصل لآحاد الناس إلى جرائم اعتداء على الأشخاص وجرائم اعتداء على الأموال يقوم على أساس الموضوع أو المحل الذي يعرضه الجاني للخطر أو يلحق الضرر به، فإن كان هو شخص الإنسان، اعتبرت الجريمة من جرائم الإعتداء على الأشخاص، أما إن كان هو مال الإنسان، فإن الجريمة تكون من جرائم الإعتداء على الأموال. لكن التمييز بين هذين النوعين من الجرائم ليس سهلاً في كل الأحوال، فقد تدق التفرقة بينهما إذا ما تضمنت الجريمة عدواناً على شخص الإنسان وعلى ماله في الوقت نفسه. من ذلك مثلاً جرائم السرقة بالإكراه التي تنطوي بطبيعتها على اعتداء على شخص الإنسان وعلى ماله، وجرائن انتهاك حرمة ملك الغير التي تتضمن اعتداء على المجني عليه في شخصه وحريته بالإضافة إلى كونها اعتداء على ملكه، مما تقدم نرى أن تقسيم الجرائم التي تحصل لآحاد الناس إلى جرائم اعتداء على الإنسان وجرائم اعتداء على المال له طابع نسبي، فهو يقوم على تغليب الجانب الأقوى من الحقوق التي يضر بها الجاني أو يعرضها لخطر الاضرار بها.
وسوف ندرس في هذا المؤلف أهم الجرائم التي تحصل لآحاد الناس في قسمين: (القسم الأول: جرائم الإعتداء على الأشخاص، القسم الثاني: جرائم الإعتداء على الأموال).
