تناولت الدراسة قضية من أكبر القضايا الإسلامية، وهي قضية التفسير، فمن المعروف وجود أكثر من مئتي تفسير للقرآن الكريم بمختلف طرقها ومناهجها، وكانت ولا تزال مليئة بالقصص الإسرائيلية التي لا صحة لها في الدين الحنيف؛ فعملت هذه الدراسة على تنقيح كتب المفسرين من دسائس لم يأت ذكرها في القرآن الكريم، ولا صحيح السنّة النبوية، وذلك بعرض تفسير جديد للقرآن الكريم، من خلال تتبع أحداثه تاريخياً وعقائديّاً في تراث الأمم السابقة في لغتهم الأصلية، وكانت سورة الكهف نموذجاً لهذا التفسير.
يضاف إلى ما سبق: عمق ثقافة الباحث في مختلف العلوم والمعارف، فلم تترك هذه الدراسة واردة أو شاردة إلا قامت بتعريفها، والترجمة لها، كما تطرقت إلى كتب التاريخ الإسلامي، والتاريخ اليهودي، وتاريخ السريان، وتاريخ الصين، وتاريخ اليونان، والتاريخ المصري القديم، كل ذلك من أجل الوصول إلى منهج صحيح لدراسة القضايا العقائدية في الديانات السماوية، ومن ثم الوصول إلى فهم صحيح لقصص القرآن الكريم وآياته.
