في هذا العمل يقدم "عبد الجبار بجاي الزهري" رؤية نقدية في موضوعه طلاسم إيليا أبي ماضي التي صاغها شعراً وعلى بحر الرمل ونشرها في ديوان الجداول في نيويورك ببلاد المهجر في عام 1927م.
و"ملحمة الطلاسم" هذه ضمت (71) رباعية تناولت خلق الإنسان ومعاشه وخاضت في ثنائيات تشكل قلقاً مستدعياً لدى كل إنسان من مثل الخلق والمعاد؛ والموت والحياة، والنسك والكفر، والعلم والجهل، وعالم القبور وعالم القصور...
وقد جاء الجواب شافياً وكافياً من خلال عمل المؤلف مع العلامة "عبد الحميد السماوي" وأهمية البحث هذا تكمن برأي الكاتب في الجمع بين أصل الطلاسم والرد عليها من العلامة السماوي، وبهذا يكون هذا البحث جامعاً في متن الطلاسم والرد عليها وهو شأن يفيد طلبة العلم والدارسين من خلال إطلاعهم على هذه الرؤية النقدية المقدمة في ثلاثة فصول: يتعرض الفصل الأول إلى سيرة "أبو ماضي" وحياته ورباعيات الطلاسم، أما الفصل الثاني فيتعرض فيه المؤلف إلى شخصية العلامة "عبد الحميد السماوي" وسيرته ورباعياته البالغة (124) رباعية، ويأتي الفصل الثالث والأخير كنظرة نقدية موسومة بـ"رؤية نقدية في الشعر والشاعر" وفيها وقفة مع كل شاعر من هذين الشاعرين لبيان الإجادة في التعبير والتفكير والإبداع المطلوب لكل منهما.
وهكذا بدأ العمل في تعرضه لـ"ملحمة السماوي" (فوق أثباج الطبيعة) و(طلاسم) "أبي ماضي" - رؤية نقدية هامة من حيث الأسباب والأهداف والنتائج... جدير بالإطلاع.
