دلالة الألفاظ ذات مكانة عند الأصوليين واللغويين، إذ هى من صور الاعتلاق بينهما، ذلك لأنهما يعيشان فى النص، والنص لا يكون إلا ألفاظاً دالة بمواصفته وتنزلاته وعلائقه ومساقاته وقرائنه، فكان ضرورة أن يعنى الأصولى بتحقيق دلالة الألفاظ فى النصوص الشرعية، وكان لزاماً أن تؤثر الغاية التى يحط الأصولى عندها رحاله على حركته وعلى زاده نحوها، وكذلك اللغوى وإن تجاوز الأول الثانى فى الهدف المقصود.
ومن هنا آثرت أن أقوم بقراءة دلالية لهذه المسألة فى تراث الأصوليين ببصر وبصيرة اللغوى، لأرصد موقف الأصوليين وحركتهم من هذه المسألة، ومدى تأثرهم بالوعى البيانى للنصوص، واعتدادهم بما يعتد به اللغوى من المساقات والقرائن اللفظية والحالية، فكانت هذه القراءة الدلالية ذات عناية خاصة بالنقد التفسيرى التحليلى لتراث الأصوليين فى هذه المسألة، ولم يك من وكدها أن تقارن بين الفكر الدلالى والفكر الأصولى، ولكنها قد تبدي ما يتراءى لفطرتها اللغوية في نص من النصوص، تجليته لما غمض عندهم، وتخليصًا لما اشتجر.
