لا بد لكل كتاب من رهانات وغايات ينشدها، وأول ما كنت أطمح إليه في هذا الكتاب هو أن أحاور ماضياً أدبياً مجيداً نخشى جميعنا أن نفقد جِدّتَه ونضارته، في ظل مدِّ التغريب والعولمة، وهويةً حضارية يقف منها الكثير من معاصرينا موقف إهمال وإزدراء، ولا أعرف مجالاً معرفياً يتم التحامل عليه الآن، وتُجَند ضِده الأفكارُ والإيديولوجيات كالأدب، والسبب في ذلك أن كثيراً من عامة الناس في عصرنا، لا يرون في الأدب سوى بيت للغزل، أو قصة للترفيه والتندر، أو مجرد ثرثرة لا تقدم ولا تؤخر.
والحقيقة هي غير هذا، وغير هذه التصورات الفجة العقيمة، التي لا ترى من الأشياء سوى القشور، ولا تهتم سوى بسفاسف الأمور، فالأدب أكبر من ذلك وأرقى، فهو يكاد يكون الميدان المعرفي الوحيد الذي يقدم بين يدي الإنسان تجارب الناس من كل العصور والأزمة، ويزوده برؤاهم وطموحاتهم، ويفسر أحزانهم وإنكساراتهم.
إن الادب ليس قصيدة تقال هنا أو هناك، أو قصة تنشر في هذا المحفل أو ذاك، إنه إرث الأمة وحاضرها ورهان مستقبلها، وصوت الإنسانية وتاريخها الذي يعلمها ويربي فيها الذوق والحس، فيجعلها تسمو إلى عوالم الكمال، وتترفع عن حياة المادة والجمود.
ويعد أدبنا العربي القديم، أحد أهم روافد هويتنا التي لا يستطيع احد أن ينكر قيمتها المعرفية والثقافية، بل وقيمتها الإنسانية أيضاً، ودراسة ابن زيدون ومعاشرة نصوصه النثرية في هذا الكتاب إرتداد إلى ماضٍ أدبي مجيد من جهة، وامتنان وإعتراف بفضل جميع أدبائنا القدماء من جهة أخرى.
وليس هذا الإرتداء إلى الماضي إرتداداً لذاته، وإنما هو رغبة عميقة في الفهم، ووصل جسور التواصل بين الماضي والحاضر، وتحقيقاً لهذه الرغبة، توسلتُ في دراستي لرسائل ابن زيدون بمفاهيم حديثة، إذ تبنيتُ مفاهيم شعرية وآلياتها، وليس في هذا الأمر انبهار بنقد غربي حديث، أو هرولة نحو ثقافة مغايرة - فليس هذا مما يأبه له بحث يحترم ثقافته - وإنما فيه إقتناعٌ بضرورة دراسة رسائل ابن زيدون، من الزاوية التي هي أحق أن تدرس من خلالها.
ولا تحمل نظرية تبحث في أدبية النصوص من الثقل المنهجي والإرث المفاهيمي العميق ما تحمله الشعرية، فمنذ الطرح الشكلاني إلى الآن، وهي في إزدهار مستمر، وهوسٍ دؤوب لتخليص الأدب من براثن المناهج التي تبحث في غير أدبية الأدب.
