مضمون هذه الدراسة التي أقدمّها للقراء هو: أولاً عصارة ما تيسر لي الإطلاع عليه من كتب تفسير القرآن الكريم وما شملته من أساطير وروايات إسرائيلية وهي مناسبة لمعرفة مبررات وُلوجها هذه التفاسير، ومما لا شك فيه أن موضوع "الإسرائيليات" قد حظي بالدراسة والبحث، لكن من وجهة نظر شرعية، وما سأقوم به ليس رد هذه الإسرائيليات أو قبولها، ولكن المقصود هو تعرف بعض غاياتها، وكيف ولجت تفاسير القرآن الكريم المختلفة في كل عصر من العصور لأن كل تفسير يُمثِّل ثقافة حقبة زمنية معينة، وثانياً: هو دعوة للإستفادة مما وصلت إليه العلوم الإنسانية، والتأسيس لعلم أساطير عربي تكون إحدى مهمّاته تعرف ما علِق ببعض تفاسير القرآن الكريم من قصص وأخبار وأساطير منقولة عن أهل الكتاب وغيرهم، وهو ما يحاول هذا البحث المتواضع الإجابة عليه، والله المستعان.
