أثناء الولادة كنت أسمع صوت أمي تصرخ من آلام الطلق فطللت برأسي أولا بمساعدة أحدهم، علمت فيما بعد أنه طبيب الولادة، كنت أبكي بشدة متسائلا مالذي أتى بي إلى هذه الدنيا، لم يسألني أحد هل أنا راغب فى القدوم إلى هذا العالم العبثي، أعتقد أنى لو سئلت لأجبت بالرفض القاطع دون تردد فلم أكن راغبا فى المجيء الأول لأخوض اختبارا صعبا ثم حسابا عسيرا فى المجيء الثاني ولكن ماخفف عني وطأة الموقف وجه أبى الطيب ذو التقاسيم المريحة والدموع تترقرق فى عينيه لتزيده رقة وعذوبة مما هدأ من روعي وشعرت أننى قرة عينه رغم أننى لست أول حظوظه فى الإنجاب وتعالت أصوات غريبة علمت فيما بعد أنها زغاريد وعمت الفرحه فى مسكننا الكائن في منطقه حدائق شبرا.
