نظراً لأهمية هذا الدور الحيوي الذي تقوم به المنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية، فقد رأينا أن نعرض بالتفصيل للهيكل التنظيمي الذي تتكون منه هذه المنظمة بدءاً من الجمعية العامة التي تتكون من مندوبين عن كل الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة، والتي تعد الجهاز الرئيسي لهذه المنظمة وهي التي تعتمد القرارات والتوصيات الصادرة منها سواء ما يتعلق بأوجه نشاطها أو بتنظيم العمل وسيره داخل هذه النمظمة الدولية، ثم بعد ذلك نعرض للجنة التنفيذية للإنتربول من حيث أعضاءها وعددهم وشروط اختيارهم، وطريقة اختيارهم واختصاصات هذه اللجنة حسب دستور المنظمة ونظامها الأساسي، وسنعرض كذلك للأمانة العامة للمنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية كونها الجهاز الإداري الرئيسي في تسيير العمل اليومي لهذه المنظمة، كما سنستعرض الطرق القانونية التي يعمل الموظفون في الإنتربول من خلالها، ونظراً لأن الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو معرفة دور الإنتربول ووسائله في مكافحة الجرائم وتعقب المجرمين، فقد رأينا أن نعرض للوسائل الفنية المتاحة للإنتربول التي تساعده في تنفيذ أهدافه.
وقد رأينا من خلال هذه الدراسة أن نعرض لدور الإنتربول في مكافحة بعض الجرائم الخطيرة على الصعيد الدولي والوطني مثل جرائم الإرهاب، وجرائم الإتجار في المخدرات، وجرائم سرقة وتهريب الآثار على اعتبار أن هذه النماذج من الجرائم تتسم بأنها ترتكب بواسطة عصابات دولية منظمة، وأن مرتكبيها في الغالب يتصفون بالخطورة الإجرامية الكبيرة. وأخيراً فقد رأينا أن نعرض لإتفاق المقر المبرم بين الحكومة الفرنسية والمنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية في 1982/11/2م والذي بموجبه تم الإتفاق على أن مقر المنظمة الرئيسي هو مدينة "ليون" الفرنسية، ونص هذا الإتفاق على عدد من الحقوق والإمتيازات والحصانات سواء لمقر المنظمة أو للمنظمة ذاتها كشخصية معنوية، أو للعاملين بها.
